According to Entrepreneur, the Top 100 is selected based on more than 150 data points in the areas of costs and fees, size and growth, brand strength, and financial strength and stability.

“Being part of the Franchise 500 as a Top 100 new franchise is a prestigious recognition and it verifies our strength in the marketplace, especially for new franchisees. Pet Wants is an attractive franchise because we focus on providing pets with fresh, nutritious, high-quality pet food in a way that’s convenient for today’s busy families with free, personal delivery,” Pet Wants President Scott Hoots said.

Pet Wants was originally launched in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2010 by Michele Hobbs to fill a void in pet nutrition that had personally frustrated her as a pet owner. The business model was so successful that Hobbs teamed up with Franchise Funding Group to launch Pet Wants as a franchise in 2015 and soon after was integrated into Strategic Franchising Systems, a family of five separate but affiliated franchise brands.

Strategic Franchising has more than three decades of developing and growing multiple franchises into national brands, including Home Helpers, Growth Coach, Fresh Coat, and Caring Transition, to name a few. Pet Wants Franchise has now become their latest in a long line of success stories, with 110 Pet Wants franchises awarded and growing. Franchisees have the opportunity to open a retail store or operate on a mobile-only basis.Hoots said, for Pet Wants franchisees, Pet Wants is about much more than high-quality pet food and products.

“Our franchisees want to build profitable businesses, but they also want to make a positive impact on the health and welfare of animals in their own communities and give pet parents real convenience and peace of mind. Plus, our franchise is flexible and affordable, which makes it even more exciting for today’s entrepreneurs,” Hoots said.

Pet Wants’ specially-crafted pet food formulas are made in small batches with fresh, natural ingredients enhanced with vitamins and minerals for a complete and balanced diet in every bowl. There’s no sugar added, no fillers and no animal by-products and Pet Wants never uses corn, wheat, soy or dyes, which makes the food great for animals with allergies. Pet Wants locations also sell healing salve, calming balm, anti-itch spray, paw wax and more along with a variety of products from partner companies as well as a variety of homemade treats, including beef jerky, sweet pawtato chips, salmon chews, bully sticks and more.
