- VISCOSITY: How thick or thin is the oil being tested? A viscosity significantly out of specification can cause huge problems.
- OIL CONDITION: Is the oil “worn out”? Does it contain incompatible contaminants such as water or glycol (i.e., anti-freeze)?
- PARTICLE COUNT: How dirty is the oil?
- WEAR CONTAMINANTS: Does the oil contain contaminants such as iron or aluminum? These elements are indicators of abnormal wear.
