About Us
The Transblue story traces its roots to 2004 when we first launched the company. But construction has been in our blood even longer -- it’s what we have always done. In the first five years of the Transblue operation, the business consisted of offering primarily light landscaping maintenance and contracting services. The Transblue business grew to the point where we had 109 employees, 28 trucks, and a strong, local client base.
In 2009, we made the decision to expand and change the business model, taking the company to a more national level. We achieved this by moving to a subcontractor, rather than employee, model for running the business. Through a careful, deliberate process, we developed a national network of trusted subcontractors which enabled Transblue to win bids on commercial construction-related work throughout the United States. Prior to this switch, we were limited by time and travel. This change allowed us to reach a large section of the country with needs we were now able to service.
We currently work with some of the largest Fortune 500 companies in the world, including Marriott Hotels, Hilton Hotels, Starbucks, Costco, Walmart, Cumberland Farms, Wells Fargo, and Safeway. The Transblue model offers national strength and industry knowledge that sets it apart in the industry.
In considering the next level for our business, we developed a construction management program and model that serves as the basis for a franchise operation: a model which offers general contracting and commercial maintenance for local residents and businesses, based on the core values of God, Family, and then Business.
The Industry
With home improvement and commercial facility spending being the highest in 10 years. In 2017, residential home improvement spending increased 6.5% - 9% from the previous year according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau. In 2015 construction spending was up nearly 11% and in 2016 it increased 10.7%.
Commercial facility spending is expected to see an 8.8% increase for the year while Industrial facility spending is going to see a year-over-year increase of 6.6%. Facility maintenance is a small slice of the facilities manager budget and one of the last budget items to be cut when reduction is necessary. While nothing is recession-proof, we have flourished during recessions. Shielding our franchise from exposure to recession is one of our unique attributes as a service that enhances both property values and brands curb appeal.
