Years ago while sitting in a small Parisian cafe enjoying a perfectly brewed pot of Darjeeling tea, Tealuxe founders Bruce Bernie and Katherine Walsh, wondered why this experience couldn't be enjoyed in the U.S. An immediate decision was made to start the best tea company in the world--a tea company that would welcome everyone. The founders pledged to open the door to the tea culture to all and to let them wander through.

You're Late For Coffee, But On Time For Tea

In December, 1996, the first Tealuxe, a tea bar & cafe, opened at Zero Battle Street in the center of Harvard Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Since the opening day, it has been a rocket ship--crowded all the time, getting rave reviews, lots of "Best of..." awards. Business was so brisk,a second cafe opened on Newbury Street and a third near Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
