Location, Location, Location
“A” markets are always a hotbed of great concepts with good reason - but Coach’s likes to focus on “B” market locations because those are some of the most under-served but deserving places - great but small communities. Places where county fairs are still an annual event and you know more than just your neighbor’s name. “B” market rent is affordable and allows you to provide better pricing to your customers. In our “B” market model, you’re a community center and a hometown hero, making a difference every single day. Exceptional locations can be found in “A” markets and the Coach’s model works well there also!
Second-generation locations
What’s a second-generation location? A second-generation location is one that has most recently been a restaurant with dine-in seating. It’s been closed, but the major equipment is still in place and usable. It takes less time to get open. A second-generation location often has several of the time-consuming and/or expensive parts of your build-out done, such as a grease-trap or venting system. Some only require a coat of paint and our branded materials to get the doors open. A conversion location is similar to a second-generation location, except it’s still open and doing business with an existing customer base. It has the opportunity for a faster start-up because it only has to close long enough to install the Coach’s branding and attend training.
How long does it take?
The average time to open is between four to 6 months. Conversions and second-generation locations can be open for business faster than a “start from scratch” build-out, but our goal is always to get your doors open and your cash flow coming in as quickly as possible.
