Sasquatch Strength Plans Expansion into Canada

Seattle-made fitness concept runs in the direction of the greater Toronto area for franchise locations

SEATTLE Sasquatch Strength – an education-based fitness concept dedicated to teaching its members about long term training and creating a community for those looking to improve their health – is planning to expand to the greater Toronto area. Sasquatch Strength has a strong presence in the Seattle area with 4 locations, with plans to also expand to central Florida.

Founder and CEO Isaac Vaisberg, always had intentions for the brand to grow into new communities to create a safe workout space for all. No stranger to the real estate world, an investor in commercial real estate turned business owner, Vaisberg believes there can be upwards of 50 Sasquatch Strength locations in the greater Toronto area.

“Finding success within Washington and as we trickle out of the state, we’ve seen an overflowing amount of interest within Canada, Toronto especially,” said Vaisberg. “Toronto is seeing explosive growth within their communities, real estate, and as a market. It is the foothold for East Canada and a gateway to eventually welcome new members into the larger Canadian market.”

For Vaisberg, being cognizant of his own health and having a passion for fitness, becoming a gym owner, just made sense. Since then, the brand has become a local favorite and been able to excel even amid a pandemic. In 2020, while businesses were furloughing employees, Sasquatch Strength was able to keep all of its employees while retaining over 95 percent of its members. To adapt to the changes of rules and regulations, the brand also revitalized its business model while launching the “Sasquatch @Home,” initiative. The brand will continue its devotion to bring individualized services to members, while providing the overall support to its franchisees.

Vaisberg also credits his partners, Jason Cobb, Troy Morse, and the Franchise Founders Group, a private equity firm, for the brands ongoing success.

Sasquatch Strength started franchising in 2018 and feels Toronto is the perfect next major city to expand. Toronto is filled with people who want to be healthy and take control of their overall wellness.

“The greater Toronto area is a phenomenal market for us,” added Vaisberg. “Canadians have always been ahead of the curve in terms of educating their population on proper health and wellness habits, so we will be right at home.”

Sasquatch’s “purpose-based” programming focuses on educating and empowering members for life. As a truly functional program, the difficulty level of the daily workouts is designed to be increased or decreased, depending upon the individual. This makes them doable by anyone and creates a community of support and accountability where everyone feels welcome and safe. Daily workouts can include: core conditioning, rowing, sprinting, gymnastics, lifting, etc. And all the workouts are designed to improve overall flexibility, strength, speed, endurance, and agility.

About Sasquatch Strength

Founded in 2014 and franchising since 2018, Sasquatch Strength is a Washington-based fitness concept focusing on educating members for life, rather than giving them a workout and sending them home. The brand was founded when CEO Isaac Vaisberg found himself wanting to join the fitness industry, yet couldn’t find a gym that provided purpose-based programming. Sasquatch Strength prides itself on unique fitness programs that are personalized to help members reach their goals. Today, there are four open locations in Washington with two in various stages of development throughout Washington and Florida. For more information, visit www.franchise.sasquatchstrength.com.
