MOOYAH listed as chain to watch

MOOYAH Burgers & Fries did a lot of moving and shaking in 2010, opening 17 new locations and signing multiple development agreements for 2011.

These efforts have earned the attention of many, including BurgerBusiness, an online news site devoted to the burger industry, which listed MOOYAH on its '11 Burger Chains to Watch in 2011' list.

The chain earned extra points for serving burgers with double patties.

'I'm honored to be recognized as the brand's leader, but the real spotlight story here is MOOYAH,' said Alan Hixon, president. 'The fast casual, better burger segment is still growing. MOOYAH is a brand and a burger that I absolutely believe in, and 2011 is going to be another great year for us.'

Hixon joined the company in 2009, when MOOYAH was named FastCasual.com's No. 1 brand for the year. Since that time, MOOYAH has taken several steps to further encourage brand engagement.

In 2011, Hixon said the brand expects to see a minimum of 20 to 25 restaurants open as part of the new agreements. The company also has three additional franchise deals in the negotiating phase.

Despite the slated growth of the chain, Hixon insists that the expansion is not 'franchising for franchising's sake.' Hixon expects to drive company growth throughout the next decade and become a national player on the ever-expanding better burger market.

MOOYAH's newest units are located in McKinney and Richardson, Texas.
