LaVida Massage Brings Healthy Minds, Bodies, Lives to Woodbridge, Va.
New wellness franchise adds business and jobs to metro D.C. community, sharing health benefits of therapeutic massage with the area

The 2100 square foot LaVida Massage Center marks the first massage-centric wellness center in the Woodbridge community, and the third LaVida center in the state.
Located at 4267 Cheshire Station Plaza at the southeast corner of the Dale Boulevard and Minnieville Road intersection, the new LaVida Center features eight regular massage rooms, two couples’ massage rooms and one lobby area room reserved specifically for LaVida members.
Owner and manager, Joe Denney, was drawn to LaVida because of an ongoing interest in massage as a health and wellness modality. He wanted to open a center that focused on the entire family as opposed to the typical spa atmosphere, one that offered a range of massage and health and wellness services. He found that and so much more in LaVida.
A regular receiver of massage with a 15 year career background in sales, Denney saw a great business opportunity that was near and dear to him as well as a business with tremendous growth potential. And, as a long-time Woodbridge resident, Denney decided that this area was a perfect fit for LaVida given its close proximity to gyms, health clubs, and chiropractic-focused wellness centers.
“Woodbridge is a very active community, committed to health and wellness. I am proud to bring the first health and wellness center dedicated to therapeutic massage to the area,” says Denney. “Massage therapy works; it has been proven to benefit ones’ health. LaVida allows me to spread the word about the power of massage, build a business I love, all while investing in the health, wellness and business of Woodbridge.”
LaVida of Woodbridge hopes to soon partner with fitness and health centers in the area to focus a portion of business on sports therapy massage that will offer their members special rates. The new center will also offer discounts to employees of nearby businesses.
“At LaVida of Woodbridge, we’re focused on the therapeutic power of massage and in making it an affordable and comfortable commodity for everyone,” Denney says.
In addition to sharing the health and wellness benefits of massage to the Woodbridge community, Denney will add jobs to the area with LaVida—with intentions of hiring up to 10 positions including therapists, receptionists and aestheticians in the coming months.
LaVida of Woodbridge provides a number of therapeutic massage services specifically designed to meet the needs of families in the area, including Sweedish, couples’, deep tissue, prenatal, and others, all performed by licensed and highly experienced massage therapists.
