Founded in 2011, PickUp USA offers a full-service fitness club with a focus on basketball. Their clubs offer group and private basketball training, weight and cardio rooms, lounges, locker rooms, retail merchandise, and the company's main attraction – pickup basketball with referees. "It's an amazing gym atmosphere," says PickUp USA Franchise Support Specialist, Derek Thomas. "We give our members the opportunity to get in a ton of basketball around their busy schedules, and provide world-class fitness areas within the gym for general training. People have fun, play ball, get in shape, and make friends – truly a one of a kind experience."
The gym industry is a continuously growing portion of the US economy. Data from IHRSA shows that over 55 million people nationwide belong to a fitness club. Basketball is also a tremendously popular sport, with over 23 million participants nationwide each year, according to Statista. PickUp USA has found a strong niche catering to the large market of gym users that play basketball. "We're really a one-stop shop," says Meinster, "we provide a great environment for basketball games and training, and also outfit our gyms with traditional amenities, like weight rooms and cardio equipment."
PickUp USA has territories available for franchise development throughout the country, and is looking to award their first franchises this Summer. "We've received a ton of inquiries, and are in the process of selecting our first group of franchisees to help us grow our brand," says Meinster, "we're very excited to see our clubs popping up across the country in the months ahead."
