In July of 1994, founder of Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids, Cookie Shelton, developed one of the first children’s-only hair salons in the United States, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was trying to change the age-old image of the barbershop and beauty salon. Her goal was to create a place where kids could have a good time and still get a great haircut. With over ten years of existence in Indianapolis, and franchised outlets being developed across America and even in other nations, Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids has become one of the leaders in a specialized market. As of 2005, we provide services for more than half of a million children per year, and are growing rapidly around the world.

In the past, parents didn’t have the opportunity to take their children to a salon specifi cally made for kids. Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids gives children not only a great haircut, but also a one-of-a-kind experience; one that both the child and the parent will cherish. Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids custom interiors replace the traditional adult styling chairs with kid-sized cars, planes, horses, and more. Movies can be watched and video games can be played at every station. There is even an indoor jungle gym, as well as a complete line of children’s hair care products.

The Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids Franchise Program has been designed to provide all the advantages you need to operate successfully. We train our operators with our confidential operations guide that was developed over the years with input from our large network of operators and employees. At Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids, we help you compete by providing the fi xtures, equipment, graphics, POS system, salon design, site selection and lease negotiations, and complete operations training to keep your business running smoothly and profi tably. Will I receive help in fi nding the location for my salon? We support you in fi nding a premium location, and will assist in negotiating the business terms of your lease. The Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids corporate office supervises every store design, to customize it to the specific dimensions and shape of your location.

What are the franchise fees? 

A one time fee of $22,500 is charged for each salon. You will then pay monthly royalty fees of your gross sales and monthly system wide advertising fees. Multi-unit operators pay only $7,500 for each additonal location. 

Does Franchising help with marketing?

Yes. Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids will provide you with advertising materials throughout the year. Your franchise network will also advertise in the local areas. Proper
staff training will ensure you utilize the most effective advertising - word of mouth.

What type of training program does Franchising provide?

As a Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids franchisee, you’ll continually benefi t from the experience, support, and resources of the entire franchise organization. Training in personnel management, inventory selection, and marketing are just the beginning. You will receive periodic on-site visits from our franchise operations specialists who will be there to answer your questions and provide ongoing assistance and training. Our goal at Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids is to create an experience that both children and parents won’t soon forget. Upon entering the salon, neon lights lead children to the indoor jungle gym where they can climb and play. The salon is full of distinctive designs, including televisions at every station so the child can watch movies or play video games. Children are entertained while sitting in our unique fantasy chairs while they get their haircut, which sometimes can seem like an impossible task at traditional salons. Each station is stocked with samples of kid specific hair care products for the stylists to use and promote.
